Kool Collars come flat for convenient easy handling and storage. Soak the collar in regular tap water for about 20 minutes. Distribute the crystals in the collar evenly; pat dry to remove excess water. Place collar around the neck. The collar works off of evaporation. It absorbs the heat from one of your body heat controlling areas in the back of your neck cooling your body down, when the collar warms up you roll the collar, now the cool side is against your neck and warm side is cooling off again. Continue to roll the collar as needed. The collar is also known for bringing down fevers in children and infants, heat stoke victims, and menopause. To care for the collar, hand wash with mild soap and warm water. When the collar is not needed lay flat or hang to dry for about two weeks, then fold and put away till the next time that it is needed. Do not fold or store in plastic bag while wet. Like any other fabric if you put it away wet it will mildew. When you want to use it again just soak for the 20 minute time period. When the collar is soaked fully it will swell up to about the size of a garden hose. Do not put in freezer. Do not swallow content. Handmade they come in many different colors and I can even make them bigger or smaller. They will last for years if properly cared for, I have one that I use that is 6 years old and has kept me cool for 18 hrs straight without being resoaked. Pictured are some of the fabric samples.
